Pinned column base with cast-in anchors
Feasibility prototype — not for design use. The calculation has not been validated for design decisions.
A steel column (I/H or hollow section) on a base plate, grout and a concrete foundation, with four headed anchor bolts in two rows beyond the column. Two load cases: compression with shear, and uplift with shear. The check covers the concrete in compression, the base plate and anchors in tension, shear by friction and anchors, the anchorage in concrete and the column weld. Everything runs in this browser.
Checked
- Concrete in compression under the plate (EN 1993-1-8 6.2.5, 6.2.8.2; α from EN 1992-1-1 6.7)
- Uplift: base plate and anchors (6.2.6.11, Table 6.2); shear by friction and anchors (6.2.2)
- Anchorage per EN 1992-4 (steel, pull-out, cone, pry-out, concrete edge), column weld, detailing
Not checked
- Fixed bases (moment at the base), post-installed anchors, blow-out, anchor reinforcement
- The column, the foundation and its reinforcement
